In case if you use 2010 version:
To update ArcaVir installations on stations without Internet access via repository mechanism carried on CD/DVD or Flash drive, you should:
1. On any machine with Internet access and ArcaVir installed with multi-station licence create so-called repository, namely:
a) Click the left mouse button at the ArcaVir icon on the taskbar
b) In the main ArcaVir window click „Settings”
c) Unfold „Update” with a cross
d) Click "Update settings"
e) Tick the "Applications and repository"
f) In the bottom „Repository folder” window select a folder on the disk, where such a repository is to be created (the folder should be empty) – this folder should be located on a local disk, it can not be a mapped network resource.
g) in program options, at „Tasks” create an update task according to the following instruction:

Click the left mouse button on the ArcaVir icon on the taskbar

In the main ArcaVir window click „Settings”

Unfold „Package maintance” with a cross

Click "Tasks"

Press "Add" key
-
Enter the task’s name (it is up to the user to create a name – it should „say” what the task relates to)

Select type of a task to run „Update”

Select type of a trigger "By temporal settings"
-
Set the date and the initial time (it can be left unchanged)

Set the interval for e.g. 4 hours
-
Click "ok"
-
Click "ok"
2. On machines to be updated from that repository you should set:
a) Click the left mouse button on ArcaVir icon on the taskbar
b) In the main ArcaVir window click „Settings”
c) Unfold „Update” with a cross
d) Click "Server";
e) Select the "Local Resource" protocol
f) In the “Address” field enter the drive from which you want to update the program (e.g. "E:", or if the repository is located in the subdirectory, enter it with the whole subdirectory name, e.g. “E:\repository”)
3. Before updating the station from a CD (or a flash drive) record the contents of the repository on a CD (a flash drive) or to the root directory, or to any subdirectory (according to settings at paragraph 2f)
4. To update the program you have only to insert the CD into the CD drive (or a flash drive) with a repository, click the right mouse button on the ArcaVir icon on the taskbar and select “Update”, then wait until the update is completed.
In case if you use 2012 or 2011 version:
1. Create a repository on any online computer with an ArcaVir multi-station license installed.
a) left-click mouse on a ArcaVir icon on your TaskBar.
b) In the ArcaVir main menu go to “settings”, then “update”
c) go to“repository” bookmark.
d) mark option “Create Repository”
e) below “repository folder” show up the place (exact folder) on your drive where would you like the repository to be
created. The folder has to be empty. It can not be a mapped view from the local network.
f) then please create an update task:
- Go to “options” and “other settings”, then bookmark “tasks”
- Name the task, e.g. "Update"
- Choose the type of the task (3 types available- pick “update”)
- Choose the basis for performing the task- “weekly schedule” or “system start”
- In case if we chose “weekly schedule” we need to select days of the week and exact hours for update.
- Confirm by pressing “ok” button twice.
2. To make selected machines update automatically from the repository you need to:
a) left-click on the ArcaVir icon on the Taskbar
b) In the ArcaVir main menu click “settings” then “update”
c) go to “advanced” bookmark
d) Choose the “Local resource” protocole
e) In the field “address” put the device address or disk location of your repository (for example: E:\repository)
3. Before you update your stations using CD (or Flash drive) you need to copy repository contents to the same location as
given in 2e.
4. To update software then you only need to insert the CD with repository (or flash), right-click ArcaVir on Taskbar and
choose “update”, then wait until update is finished.
