Malicious software found in Android Market

Last weekend cybercriminals uploaded to Android Market applications with malicious code, including popular game Angry Birds.
The software was uploaded by developer known as Lagostrod. In many popular games, including Cut the Rope, Need for Speed: Shift and Assasin’s Creed: Revelations Latostrod put a trojan. Upon installing it onto a smartfone the malicious code sends SMS to premium numbers.
Security experts investigating Lagostrod actions found that user signed as „Miriada Production“ also put malware onto Android Market.
Google was informed of the issue. Malicious apps were removed and cybercriminal’s account were blocked. About 14 000 users downloaded malicious apps.
