In Slovenian city of Maribor police arrested a man thought to be a main developer of Mariposa botnet. A 23-year-old known as Iserdo was captured after an investigation involving FBI, Spanish autorities and Slovenian Criminal Police. "To use an analogy here, as opposed to arresting the guy who broke into your home, we've arrested the guy that gave him the crowbar, the map and the best houses in the neighborhood" - said Jeffrey Troy, deputy director for FBI's cybercrime unit.

The real identity of Iserdo wasn't revealed. His arrest doesn't end the Mariposa case.

"The Guardia Civil is still trying to arrest more people regarding the Mariposa botnet. And Iserdo has been selling the bot to different people, who are creating new botnets" - experts say.
