Hackers, allegedly from China, may have accessed network of US Chamber of Commerce for as long as one year before the breach was discovered. The Wall Street Journal informs that known chinese cybercriminal gang accessed the network between at least November 2009 and May 2010, and probably much longer. US Chamber of Commerce is the bigges lobbying organization in the world, representing some 3 million US businesses. Cybercriminals were looking for informations on individuals and companies and „access to everything stored on [the Chamber's] systems, though it is unclear how much of the assets they actually viewed or stole“.
It is known that in particular they targeted data on four Chamber’s employees who specializes in Asia markets.
